Our spots on the Costa del Sol
Three stretches of coast, each with its own wind and character. We pick the exact spot based on the day's conditions for the sport you book.
Rincón de la Victoria
Isobaras' home base, 15 minutes east of Málaga via the A-7. A long sandy beach with a steady, predictable easterly: the spot where we start almost every beginner lesson, across all five sports.
Plenty of room to set up gear on land, shallow water near the shore and gear always on hand since it is our base. It is also where we run the Rincón summer camps.
Torremolinos — Guadalmar
15–20 minutes from Málaga and the airport. We ride the Guadalmar watersports zone: a roughly 300-metre stretch between the La Traviata beach bar and the golf course, authorised by the Junta de Andalucía and Capitanía Marítima under the municipal Beaches Plan.
The thermal effect from the Guadalhorce valley concentrates a steadier westerly here than along the rest of the coast: it is our progression spot for body-drag, waterstart and first foil flights, always within the reserved space and clear of the swimming area.
Marbella — Playa de los Monteros
About 40 minutes from Málaga via the A-7/AP-7. The kite and wing zone is at Playa de los Monteros, equipped by Marbella city council together with the Marbella Kite Club, with signage, a buoy channel and a gear rinse area.
Usually calmer waters, ideal for families. Important: local regulations close the zone from 15 June to 15 September, when the buoys prioritise swimmers; during those dates we move the session to Torremolinos or Rincón de la Victoria.
Two winds, three spots
Two wind regimes rule the Costa del Sol. We don't tie ourselves to one beach: we follow the forecast and move the lesson to whichever spot has the best conditions that day.
Blows east to west. It's the most frequent wind at Rincón de la Victoria: steady, predictable and with fewer gusts — ideal for beginners in any sport.
Blows west to east. It arrives stronger at Guadalmar (Torremolinos), thanks to the Guadalhorce valley thermal effect, and more gently at Playa de los Monteros (Marbella).
