Surf in Torre del Mar
Torre del Mar has one of the longest, widest beaches in the province, with dark sand, a gradual bottom and plenty of space even in summer. When the easterly pushes swell onto the Axarquía coast, small and orderly waves form, perfect for first lessons. It is 20 minutes from our Rincón de la Victoria base, so we know it well.
As along the whole Mediterranean coast, waves here come and go: we track the forecast with you on WhatsApp and schedule the lesson when the sea cooperates. If it is flat, the beach is ideal for paddleboarding, so the session is never lost. For groups and families from Vélez-Málaga and the Axarquía it is the most convenient option: no trip into the city needed.

Torre del Mar (Vélez-Málaga) is about 35 minutes east of central Málaga via the A-7 and 20 from Rincón de la Victoria. We confirm the exact meeting point on the seafront promenade by WhatsApp before the lesson.

Autumn to spring is when the Axarquía gets the most wave days, with easterlies leaving very usable learning sessions. In summer the sea is usually calm in the mornings: perfect for kids, paddleboarding and first contact with the board.

Surf waves in Torre del Mar
Torre del Mar's waves break over sand along a very long beach, so there is always a free peak. With the easterly you get small, frequent windswell; with groundswell from the Strait, cleaner stretches. We choose the zone based on the day.
How you progress with us
We start on the sand with stance, paddling and take-off, then enter the water progressively. The wide shoreline and gentle bottom let you stand for most of a beginner lesson, which builds confidence fast for kids and adults alike.
